How do you feel?
Your songs are being played on multiple radio stations, your MySpace page had blown up, you are a much requested artist? It feels like it is a dream comes true. We all have dreams when we are little, but I have to admit I gave up on this one, went to the army, got a Master degree in accounting and started a 9 to 5. It refreshing to know dreams still do come true and it is an honor and a privilege to be used by the almighty God. I am so bless. To God b the glory for the good things He has done.

Tell me about your cd?
My cd Renew My Spirit : is a phenomenal cd for anyone to have in their cd collections because we all go through some rough times in our lives that only God can brings us through. This is a collection of my testimonies of talking God and God talking back to me. I can tell you first hand that God will never leave you and is faithful. So make up your mind today and trust God. I have been through an F3 almost F4 tornado, tuberculosis, my daughter having heart surgery, almost drowning in my car, Army, unemployment, and my dad passing and God was and still is faithful. He never failed me and He will not fail you.

Who did you work with?
I worked with some of the most talented people. Rob Ulsh from Master Sounds Studio, Michael M Smith from Haya h Sounds Studio, Charles Brandon III from the Workshop Studio. They were all awesome! The musicians were awesome Jamie Lewis, Casey Square, Boo Britt, and Richie Ruffin, many more..
How hard is it to be a mommy and a singer?
I have a strong family structure. My husband is an awesome father and my little girl is my biggest fan. She can sing all of my songs word for word. She is my little protégé. But we have strong family ties in the Norfolk Area, and they love to help.

What have you learn along this journey?
I learn you have to be musically talented, but also be business savvy. You have to be smart. We recorded in three studios to make this project, not because my songs were that complicated, but to get the national sound we needed. Ask yourself is this a hobby or do want to sing professional. If is just a hobby, you can record it yourself for $30 or you can go to a cheap studio and get 5 songs done for $2,000. But if you want to sing professionally, you have to put everything you have into it and more. I mean your time, your money, blood, tears, and sweat. You have to sacrifice spending time with family and friends, everything, and lastly preparation. Have the songs type out, have a really good idea how you want the song to go, because time moves really fast in the studio. I wrote all my song, type them out, recorded them on Cakewalk with the harmonies , so when I went to the studio , I knew exactly which part I was going to record first, second, and third, and I knew how I want to sing my lead, and I knew my adlibs. That is how you prepare; you do not leave anything to chance. If some creative moments happen in the studio, you can go with it, but you will still have a great foundation which will save you time, money, and frustration. The more money you save in the studio, the more you can use for marketing, your website, mastering your project, and sending out press kits.

Who are your favorite singers?
I love Whitney Houston, Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker, Israel New Breed, Dixie Chicks, Luther Van dross, Aretha Franklin, India Arie, and Nora Jones. You can hear all their styles in my songs.

What do like to do in your spare time?
Of course spend time with family and friends especially my hubby and my princes Alaya. But I also, enjoy playing the piano and looking at Lord of the Rings on the couch with a soft blanket. But I absolutely love the beach. I love the fresh air, the sound of the waves, it just so romantic and refreshing. My favorite beach so far is Ft. Lauderdale. Oh so many great memories!!

What is your advice to the youth?
My advice to the youth is to develop, a real relationship with God as soon as you can. A real relationship with God is more than going to church. It is spending some alone time with God. He has a perfect plan for your life. The plan itself does not mean you are not going to have any bad days, but it does mean He will prosper you. God is the best friend you can have; He only has the best intention for you. He won’t cheat on you, take your man, get jealous or envious of you or lie on you. He only speaks the truth and He has insight to the world and knows you better than anyone else. Because He is Alpha and Omega and in Jeremiah He said “Before you were born, I knew you in your mother womb.” You can’t get any deeper than that. He is the very best friend you can ever have.

What is your advice to the world?
We have to pray. Just like my song says to stop the killing in streets, war on TV, and start loving our fellowman again. Only love can melt a hard heart and only one that can change hate to love is God. The bible say, If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, turn from your wicked way, then I will forgive your sins and heal your land.

What is next for you?
You know I am constantly writing songs for the next cd which is going to be hotter than the 1st. But also I am a writer of a column called “Real People, Real Issues, and Real Problems. It is about how to deal with every problems and situation, it somewhere you can relate, and some where you can go to know that you are not the only one dealing with those issues. I am also writing a resource called Spiritual Remedied for everyday people. Sometimes, we have sickness that physical medicine can not fix because our problems in spiritual. So I created a resource that you can go to get healed. We are all in a battle and the battle is taking place in the mind. So we need to renew our minds the word of God. The bible says be not conform to this world, but be you transform by the renewing of your mind. In addition, I am also working on a book called “Getting the Most Out of Life –Because It’s Your Life, Your Recipe, Your Decision.” In this book I explain how you can decide how much joy, success, failures you will get out of life. In this book I give you the views, opinions, advice, and consequences of thousands of people that I have talked with so you can achieve a prosperous, joyous, success life with as few set backs as possible. So please keep me in your prayers and I will do the same. To God be the Glory for the things He has done.
