I am so proud of you and what you have allowed God to do in your life. You look absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to purchase your CD and encourage others to do the same. On a side note, your pastor's son just married a now former member of my church in Arlington. What a small world. My prayer is that God will continue to bless you, your ministry and your family.

The third child of five, Irreka Ruffin-Knotts began her musical career singing lead for the “Ruffin Five” at the ripe age of three. Irreka was born to Pastor and Mrs. Anthony Ruffin in Virginia’s Eastern Shore in 1977. After graduating with honors from Northampton High School, she enrolled and excelled musically and academically at the prestigious James Madison University. While there, the then Ms. Ruffin became the director of the university’s Inspiration Ensemble. Under her leadership, the group ministered at JMU functions, local churches and other universities. With a bachelor’s degree under her belt, Irreka followed the footsteps of her father and brothers and enlisted in the United States Army. During her military career, she was recruited by the 7th Group Resolute Ensemble where she further developed her musical gifts and was a frequently requested soloist at military engagements, celebrity functions, schools, banquets and nursing homes across the United States. To the balancing act of career and musical ministry, Irreka added graduate school and earned a Master’s degree in Accounting from Old Dominion University. Irreka currently resides in Suffolk, Virginia with her college sweetheart husband and their vibrant and extraordinary daughter. The Knotts’ are loyal sons and daughters of Gethsemane Community Fellowship in Norfolk, Virginia under the anointed leadership of Pastor Kirk T. Houston. With a diversity of style that has been compared to CeCe Winans, Nora Jones and India.Arie (and a vocal range to match), Irreka’s versatility has been praised by fans and colleagues alike. Yet with all of these accomplishments and those unwritten, Irreka urgently proclaims that falling in love with Jesus is the very best thing she has ever done. Her goal is to encourage the hearts of believers, win for Christ the souls of the lost and influence all who hear her music to have a deeper encounter with the Master and Savior of all. This power-packed voice in its small frame is certain to surprise, delight, soothe and encourage all at once.
